This book covers the decade from 2007-2017. Divided into four parts, the book focuses on critical events around the world, Kashmir, India and Pakistan. However, the central spotlight of the book is on Kashmir, in Part II under the title Death and Despair. During this decade Kashmir witnessed the mind-numbing years of 2008, 2010 and 2016, when three unprecedented agitations emerged resulting in unforgettable phases of violence and destruction. The events which occurred during this period are written from a lived experience. A scholar interested in contemporary Kashmir, armed conflict or conflict resolution will find the book handy and practical. It provides a trench view of Kashmir and the rest of the world. The other three parts will give the reader a deep insightful perspective on pivotal trends in Pakistan, India and on the global affairs. The author deploys his national and international scholarly training and experience to bear on the analysis and evaluation of events shaping Kashmir and the world.
